Jair Lynch managed this complex public/private development, which was the first new recreation center to be built in the District of Columbia in more than twenty years and doubled the city’s capacity for indoor tennis. Jair Lynch worked on behalf of the Recreation Wish List Committee to finance the project, which is located on National Park Service land and required a long-term ground lease and multiple levels of public finance. When it was completed, the Southeast Tennis & Learning Center achieved its goal of bringing athletics and academics into a single facility for under-served children in southeast Washington, D.C. The tournament-level facility houses four indoor and six outdoor tennis courts as well as a state-of-the-art computer learning center and community space.
